The holidays are over as far as i'm concerned. New Year's hasn't ever really been the traditional fat fest or drinking marathon for me as it is for some people. I basically raised the white flag Christmas week and gained 7lbs as a result of my forfeit. As depressing as that is, i managed to achieve a small victory already today and it's not even 7:30. Ever since I first joined the Y about 10 years ago, I've been telling myself that I'd get serious and get up early to work out. Today I finally managed to do it. I woke up at 5:30 and trucked over to the gym in total darkness. You wouldn't believe how many crazy fucks are working out before 6am. There was even a workout class going on. Anyway, this might not seem like such an achievement to some people, but I don't sacrifice sleep for anything. Hopefully I can get a routine going.
